Insights, Media & Hard-Won Endurance Expertise

If you are balancing a demanding job alongside big physical goals, you already know that generic fitness advice doesn't cut it. You don't need someone telling you to just 'try harder'—you need practical strategies, a clear plan, and a sustainable mindset that protects your energy.

My background is in construction project management, so I naturally look at endurance training through a very practical lens. To me, it’s all about mapping out a realistic path, managing your time smartly, and building up your physical durability safely. Here, I share the genuine race insights and training guidance I've picked up along the way to help you prepare for your own next big start line.

The Knowledge Base.

I think the best coaching advice is always straightforward and actionable. Preparing for something like an ultramarathon or a mountain trek can feel incredibly overwhelming, especially when you are trying to fit it around a busy work week.

In this section, I write about the practical stuff that actually matters: how to structure your training blocks around a heavy schedule, how to navigate event fueling without under-eating, and how to work through those normal mental hurdles and confidence blocks. It’s simply a collection of honest, educational guides to help take the guesswork out of your preparation

In The Media.

I’ve never been one for the spotlight, but over the years, I’ve had some wonderful opportunities to sit down and share the honest highs and lows of endurance racing. Following the Mongol Derby, I was invited onto the BBC to chat about what it really takes to survive a 1,000km trek across the steppe.

Beyond that, I occasionally jump onto podcasts to have conversations with other athletes about mindset, training logistics, and the real-world grit required to get to the finish line. You can listen to my past interviews and keep an eye out for upcoming guest chats right here.

Moments From the Field

I’ve spent well over a decade in the saddle and out on the trails, and I've always believed that the best lessons are learned by doing. I don't coach from a textbook; everything I share comes from years of testing gear, getting things wrong, and figuring out what actually works in the real world.

This gallery is just a look back at some of those moments. From long-distance equestrian endurance and ultra-marathons to high-altitude trekking and our weekend field-day sessions on the South Downs, these photos capture the real environments, the grit, and the not-so-quiet joy of crossing the finish line!
